The Science behind it
Dysport contains Botulinum Toxin Type A, the key ingredient in anti-wrinkle injections. It functions by relaxing and weakening the specific muscles responsible for creating unwanted fine lines and wrinkles. As a prescribed medication, a comprehensive consultation is conducted before the procedure to assess your suitability.
Once administered, Botulinum Toxin acts between the nerve endings and muscle fibers, inhibiting the muscle's ability to contract and form wrinkles. It's important to note that your body naturally renews these nerve endings, which is why the effects of Dysport gradually wear off over time, with standard dosing lasting up to three – four months. This allows for a refreshed appearance while maintaining natural facial expressions.

Before your Dysport treatment, a thorough consultation will be conducted to ensure you are a suitable candidate for the desired area. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions or express concerns while you are guided through the entire process.
To minimize the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oils for one week prior to your appointment. Please consult your medical practitioner before discontinuing any medication.
Additionally, please inform us if you have any of the following conditions:
An autoimmune disorder
Are currently taking antibiotics
Have a severe metabolic or systemic disorder
Regularly take anticoagulant medications
Have Myasthenia Gravis syndrome or Eaton Lambert syndrome
Have previously experienced any sensitivity to Botulinum Toxin Type A
Have an active infection at the treatment site
Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant

First 24 hours avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and heat
First 48 hours, avoid touching, rubbing, or pressure to the treated area
Gentle cleansing and your regular skincare as normal

The best result is typically seen 10 days post treatment. However you may notice gradual improvements taking place from day 4-5.
