Microdermabrasion / skin polish
How It Works
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive mechanical exfoliating treatment designed to refresh the skin by gently removing dead surface cells. This treatment resurfaces the skin by exfoliating the outermost layer, encouraging renewal and improved absorption of topical products. It helps to soften fine lines, even out skin tone, and decongest pores, making it suitable for treating dull skin, acne, premature ageing, and uneven texture. Microdermabrasion is effective as both a targeted treatment and a regular maintenance option for healthy skin.

Before your appointment, we recommend avoiding active skincare ingredients such as exfoliating acids, retinoids, and high-strength vitamin C for at least 24 hours. Sun exposure, waxing, and other resurfacing treatments should also be avoided in the days leading up to your session. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and tailor the treatment to suit your individual needs and concerns.
-
After treatment, it is normal for the skin to appear slightly pink or feel mildly sensitive, similar to light sun or windburn. This typically settles within a few hours, though it may last up to 24 hours depending on skin sensitivity. Some clients may also experience light flaking as the skin continues to renew. For the first 24 hours, avoid active skincare products and use only gentle, hydrating formulas. Daily application of SPF is essential to protect the skin and maintain results.
-
Microdermabrasion provides immediate improvement in skin texture, brightness, and clarity. With ongoing treatments, it can refine pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and support long-term skin health. Depending on your skin goals, treatments may be recommended every four to six weeks.

This treatment is generally safe and well-tolerated, with minimal downtime. Temporary redness, mild sensitivity, or occasional flaking are common and usually short-lived. While rare, potential complications such as irritation or breakouts can occur if aftercare guidelines are not followed. All treatments are carried out by trained professional to ensure your safety and comfort, with personalised advice provided for the best outcome.
